Today, we went to another Korean mall, called the Galleria. We were sent to the book store while the parents (Sunghee’s Mum and friends) shopped around. :P We ended up looking at the stationary section, rather than choosing books since I prefer not to read basic English books for ESL people. After the bookstore, we went to an Indian restaurant called ‘Indy’. We ordered Tandoori chicken, naan bread, chicken curry, and spicy beef curry. The food was extremely delicious, but also very filling.
When we finished eating, we went to ‘Fashion World’, an outdoor mall made up of a bunch of expensive designer stores with a lot of ‘interesting’ clothes. We were in a store called ‘Kuho’ where the parents were shopping. We lazed around on a large stool-couch-thing for a while, then walked around. When we came back, another friend offered us traditional Korean candy, which is similar to nougat. However, this particular candy is covered in loose powder which got all over the floor and couch of this expensive store. :S. It’s okay though, because the parents were valued customers, and the employees ended up giving us super tasty pineapple drinks.
We headed back to the house we were staying at. We had to wait around until 6:00pm because Sunghee’s Mum’s car had a brake issue and was being fixed. We watched some Smallville (Its getting SO intense!) and waited for dinner time. For dinner, we went to a Korean restaurant where we sat on the ground with a low table that had a burner for cooking food. We ate ‘tacallbi’, which is chicken, cabbage, rice cakes, sweet potatoes and other things served as it cooks before you in delicious spices.
After eating, we headed back to Sunghee’s house, which is a few hours’ drive. We took two cars since the parents were all coming and Sunghee’s friend Jenny. After driving for nearly an hour, the other car rang us saying they had only just left, because they were shopping in Lotte Mart. We pulled into a rest stop and got some drinks. At the rest stop, there were free massage chairs, so we tried them out. They were interesting… It kind of felt like someone was shooting tennis balls at my back constantly.
They finally caught up to us and we all proceeded home, arriving at 12:30 am. After getting into bed, we did not sleep for a long time, and got frequent reminders to be quiet… :P
