Today we left Gyeongju, headed for DaeJeon. After a few hours of driving, we arrived at Sunghee’s Mum’s friend’s beautiful and spacious apartment, where we were to stay the night. After watching a few shows on the internet, went to a posh cafĂ© called Beans & Berries. We ate a Korean-style slushie, which consisted of green tea slushie, green tea ice-cream, nuts, red bean ‘mush’ and something similar to Turkish delight. I know, it sounds a bit… odd. Despite the nature of it, it was the most delicious thing I’ve had since I’ve been in Korea, and almost everything here is delicious. (If you’re the adventurous type). After devouring the slushie-ice-cream hybrid, we went to another multiple story mall, which was connected to a hospital.
Sunghee got her eyes checked, which were perfectly normal, and we did a little bit of shopping.
The mall we were in was also a bit posh, and everyone there was dressed in trendy clothes and had nice hair. I stood out a bit, not only because my skin was white, but also because I looked like I just got back from a camping trip. :S I was wearing comfy clothes and my hair really needed a wash. It was quite embarrassing.

Seeing how I am almost broke, (my debit card does not work, so I am down to $50 from the $120 I started with) I decided I would not buy anything. I ended up buying stuff anyway, though. I only spent $14! I bought two tree hugger shirts… After shopping around, we went to the top floor of the mall to a VIP room for avid shoppers at the mall. It offers free drinks to those who have a special pass served in Port Marian teacup sets with little cookies. I definitely could get used to this lifestyle!
After tea (actually, caramel macchiatos, yum!) we went for dinner at an Italian restaurant, with a hint of Korean. As much as I love Korean food, it was nice to have some food I was used to, ie BBQ chicken pizza! After a delicious meal, we went to hang out at Sunghee’s Mum’s friend’s (a different friend) antique shop for a while then headed home.
