Baseball

Today was a day of many options. Depending on the weather, we could have gone to the beach, stayed in, drive around the island or see a baseball match. The weather permitted the latter and I'm quite thankful it did. We were extremely fortunate that Sunghee's family knows the manager of Incheon's baseball team, the SK Wyverns. We met him and he showed us to our VIP seating. Just to get an idea, it normally costs $500 to get these seats. After ordering a massive meal of sweet and sour pork with delicious Korean-style Chinese noodles, Sunghee's Mum's friend came with a cooler full of more delicious food such as kimpop (Korean sushi) and kimchie. After feasting, the manager of the baseball team came back to our room with tshirts for us that featured the team's best pitcher, Kim Kwang Hyun. He played in the olympics, winning the gold medal with Korea.

Once again, the manager came back with more memorablilia for us, this time something very extravagant. He gave us baseballs signed by Kim Kwand Hyun. Apparently, it is extremely hard to get one's hands on one of these. The game was very exciting, keeping a close score untill Incheon, the team we were cheering from won but one point. Impressive fireworks concluded the game as well as an unforgettable night.
